Each month, the Downtown Heritage BIA will theme it up, and showcase some of our downtown businesses.
For March, we couldn't help but highlight a long-honoured tradition: St. Patrick's Day! While we may be named after a Scottish city, Perth also has some deep Irish roots. In fact, we think there's a wee bit of Irish in us all! With that, we're looking at all the ways you can cheers to St. Patty's Day here in Perth. Here's how: Get dressed: Pick up your authentic Irish kilt and so much more at our very own Irish-Scot-Tish-Shop. They've got a great selection of clothing, as well as as some Irish and Celtic gifts. Raise a Glass: Enjoy a pint or two at O’Reilly’s Ale House, The Golden Arrow or The Red Fox and celebrate in style. Visit one of our many restaurants that will feature Irish cuisine to celebrate the occasion. Soak in the Culture: Explore your Irish roots by picking up an engrossing book at the Book Nook or the Bookworm. The Book Nook has a super cute special on this month, as they've integrated Brio quality toys into their shop. Running for 130 years, Brio toys stimulate growth and imagination through play! You'll get a FREE train engine with the purchase of any Brio village toy (one per purchase-while supplies last). Meanwhile, the Bookworm wants you to soak in some gently read books, DVDs and CDs and they're going to have a sale on Children's/Young Adult books during March Break! |
