To Our Customers: I wanted to take a moment to explain the procedures we have in place to make shopping at Fall River Fashion safe but enjoyable. For starters upon entry customers are required to sanitize their hands. We also require the use of a facemask. You wear the mask to protect me and my staff, my staff and myself wear the mask to protect you. Dr. Tam our Public Health Officer recommends it. We agree with you wearing the mask is a nuisance. However we want this virus to go away, and we want Perth to stay healthy so we wear the masks. It is a small thing to ask but we believe it’s a step towards eliminating the virus. Fall River Fashion & Co. is a large store, we have 7000 sq feet of retail therapy. While we have limits to the number of customers we allow in (12 customers) you will never feel confined or have your space invaded while you ‘social distance’ yourself from others. We do have a directional flow to the store and we request you follow it when there are others about – otherwise the store is yours to explore. You are welcome to handle the product and try on clothes. We have a UV sterilization system to disinfect product and the store itself. In addition we steam the clothing after handled or worn – our steamer gets up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and this alone kills viruses. Just to ensure your safety the product will then go into isolation for 24 – 48 hours just to be sure… We have also amped up our cleaning regime, and are constantly looking for ways to improve our service and our environment. Due to the warmth of our building we try to keep the front door open as much as possible in this weather so many customers may not even have to touch the door handle. * Purolator is temporarily allowing us to use our hand held scanner to sign for customers (with their permission) so they don't have to touch the device at all. * Hand sanitizer will be available on the front counter for customers to use. This decision was based on numerous variables including but not limited to the science of epidemiology and my personal concerns. Of course, client safety is my #1 concern and I have spared no expense to tackle this. My #2 concern is the well being of my own health as I do have a “Underlying Health Condition” placing me in the high-risk category. With that said and considering 70% of my clients come from outside of the Lanark/Leeds/Grenville region and social distancing is impossible in tattooing, I feel this is the smart and socially responsible way to open.
We will start calling clients to reschedule starting June 15th and will officially open on June 22nd, please note each phase will have a duration of 1 week. From an epidemiologist standpoint, our opening strategy provides the 4 weeks required to evaluate if a 2nd spike of Covid-19 will occur. Phase 1: 1 Appointment per day Phase 2: 2 Appointments per day Phase 3: 3 Appointment per day Phase 4: Return max. capacity This approach will impact our normal capacity which in turn will impact wait times. Trust me with 0% revenue for over 3 months this was a complex decision for myself, but I will not risk the safety of anyone for revenue. I am sincerely sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment. I would greatly appreciate your understanding and compassion on this matter. Please remember the world is in unprecedented times which calls for unprecedented measures, and most importantly everyone’s acceptance of the “new normal”. RESCHEDULING: Shawnee will be starting to reschedule all appointments on June 15th and will be contacting and rescheduling every client in the order from where we left off on March 21st. After feedback from clients (both booked and not booked), we have concluded this is the fairest method of moving forward. Again, I greatly appreciate your understanding. Frankly...with the backlog of appointments this will be a scheduling nightmare for Shawnee, so please have patience and be kind to her.
