Mandate of the BIA Board of Directors
The BIA Board shall oversee the improvement, beautification and maintenance of municipally-owned land, buildings and structures in the area beyond that provided at the expense of the municipality generally.
The BIA Board shall promote the area as a business and shopping area and provide a forum of deliberation of the views and opinions of BIA members on matters of significance, to formulate actions based on these and to make recommendations regarding development and implementation of BIA policies.
The Council appoints the BIA Board to plan and administer activities for the promotion of the BIA as an attractive business and shopping area and for the maintenance of the appearance of the downtown core. The BIA Board will engage in strategic planning necessary to address BIA issues, advocate on behalf of the interests of the BIA, and manage the monies collected from the BIA levy and donations, fundraising, and grants.
BIA Board Meetings
The BIA Board meets on the last Wednesday of every month (except July and December) at 8:00am in Council Chambers at Town Hall.
These meetings are open to the public.
